Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Marcella O. Traeger, age 91, of Albany will be
Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.  Father
Michael Naughton will officiate, and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the
service.  Friends may call Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Seven Dolors Catholic
Church in Albany, and again on Monday after 10 AM before the service. Seven Dolors Parish Prayers will be at 4:30 pm followed by Christian Mothers at 6:30 at the parish center Sunday evening.  Marcella passed away
peacefully at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany on August 15, the Feast of the
Assumption of Mary.  Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Brenny Funeral Home
in Albany.
 
Marcella was born June 6, 1919 to Henry and Kathryn (Koppy) Theisen in Albany, where she
grew up on the family farm.  Marcella married Anton Traeger on October 10, 1939 at Seven
Dolors Catholic Church.  Together they raised their family on a dairy and grain farm in Albany.
Marcella was committed to her community.  She was a member of the Pioneer Club, Christian
Mothers, St. Jude’s Mission Group, an active member at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, and a 4H
Club leader
 
Marcella is survived by her children, George (Ruth) Traeger, Melrose; Mary (Lloyd) Tessman,
Brooklyn Park; Joann “Joni” Garbe, Hudson WI; Richard (Whitney) Traeger, Peoria, AZ; Gerald
“Gary”Traeger, Chataray, WA; James (Sandy) Traeger, Avon; daughter-in-law Shirley Traeger, Foley;
siblings, Jenny (Lloyd) Hink, Burbank, WA; Herbert (Kate Axell) Theisen, Cloquet; Margaret
Engelmeier, St Joseph; Mary (Hilary)Litchy, Brooklyn Park.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband Anton Traeger, her son Eugene Traeger, her brothers
and sisters Viola Bultena, Richard Theisen, Elmer Theisen, Harry Theisen, Robert Theisen, and
Terri Hansen.
